Department Profile

The Department of Sociology at Hampton University offers two degees. One being a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentration options in the following areas of study:

Our second degree program is a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology.

Courses in sociology are designed to provide students with critical thinking, analytical problem solving, and effective communication skills in preparing them for both academic and non-academic professional careers, as well as graduate studies for advanced degrees.
