LTC Yusef E. Good is a native of East Orange, NJ and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery. Upon completion of the Officers Basic Course, he was assigned to 4th Battalion 42nd Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Division,Fort Hood,Texas, where he served as a company fire support officer, firing battery platoon leader and battalion maintenance officer.

After completion of the Field Artillery Officers Advanced Course, LTC Good was assigned to Headquarters, 18th Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a G3 operations officer and later assigned to the 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82D Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served as assistant battalion operations officer, battalion fire support officer, battalion logistics officer and commander Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment.

Following battery command, LTC Good was assigned to Operations Group, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California where he served as the Light Task Force (Tarantulas) fire support observer controller (O/C) and Division (Lizards) fire support  O/C.

Following attendance to the Command and General Staff College, LTC Good was reassigned to Headquarters, 18th Airborne Corps where he served as a corps fire support operations officer and subsequently assigned to 18th Fires Brigade (Airborne), 82D Airborne Division where he served as operations officer for 3rd Battalion 321st Field Artillery Regiment and executive officer for 1st Battalion 321st Airborne Field Artillery Regiment.

LTC Good’s next assignment was NATO Rapid Deployment Corps Spain, Base Jaime I,Valencia, Spain where he served as deputy corps fire coordination officer, before being assigned to Hampton University.

LTC Good has served on multiple combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

LTC Good’s civilian education includes a bachelor of arts in history from Rutgers University and a masters of arts in management from Webster University. He is married to the former Lady Cruz from Villas,New Jersey and they have four kids.

His personal awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (second award), Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 x oak leaf clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 x oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (2 x oak leaf clusters), Afghan Campaign Medal (3 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Global War on Terror Medal, National Defense Service Medal ( 2 awards), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Award, Canadian and German Jump Wings.
