Department of Facilities

The School of Liberal Arts and Education occupies several buildings on the Hampton University grounds. The School's administrative offices are in Armstrong Hall, located in the center of campus.

Armstrong Hall houses the Little Theater, where student and community productions are prepared and performed. Armstrong's Dett Auditorium is the major music rehearsal facility at Hampton. The English Department Writing Technology Laboratory includes word-processing facilities and online instruction capabilities.

The computerized Foreign Languages Laboratory is located in the Academic Technology Mall on the fifth floor of the Harvey Library. Within Martin Luther King Hall resides most of the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences, including to the Center for Social Research and the Psychology Computer Laboratory.

Phenix Hall is the home for the Department of Education, and the Behavioral Sciences Research Center. Two education computer labs are located on the second floor. There are also newly installed electronic classrooms.

Armstrong-Slater Hall houses the Art program and its various studios, as well as the Army ROTC Headquarters for the School of Liberal Arts and Education.

The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, located in Holland Hall, contains full Physical Education facilities including a state of the art Exercise Physiology Laboratory.
