Study Abroad

The Department of English and Foreign Languages offers students the opportunity to study for a summer, a semester, or a year in the historic city of Bath, England, under the auspices of the Advanced Studies in England program. Students choose from a wide range of courses taught by guest faculty from University College, Oxford University.


English majors pursue internship opportunities in a wide range of professional fields, including writing, editing, public relations, law, business, finance, government, and education.

Scholarship and Financial Assistance

Scholarships are awarded to qualifying students through the University Scholarship Program and other scholarship programs. These include Presidential Scholars, Academic Achievers, Army and Navy ROTC, and various departmental scholarships. Information on scholarships and other forms of financial assistance is available from the University’s Office of Financial Aid.
