  • The Department of English and Foreign Languages works closely with BBDO Advertising, one of the largest advertising agencies in the world, offering our students the chance to apply for the Allen Rosenshine Minority Education & Training (MET) Fund. This fund awards internships to minorities, women and individuals protected under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act to encourage the pursuit of careers in advertising. There have been over 200 MET Fund recipients since the program’s inception in 2000.
  • The Department of English and Foreign Languages co-hosted a panel discussion with Congressman Bobby Scott and ONE.org, a nonprofit organization that educates about global poverty.
  • The Department of English and Foreign Languages hosted the annual Read-In, scheduled for the week of the March 22. The author, LeAnn Howe, spoke about her book, The Miko Kings, March 24, Student Center Ballroom.
  • The Department of English and Foreign Languages' Saracen Literary Journal hosts a monthly Creative Writing Workshop.
  • The Department of English and Foreign Languages will host the Advanced Study Abroad in Bath England, www.studyabroadbath.org
