  • Two time Oscar nominee for costuming, Ruth Carter, is a graduate of the Department of Fine & Performing Arts
  • Spencer Christian, national radio personality and formerly of "Good Morning America," is an English Department graduate
  • The 2006-2007 National Teacher of the Year, Kimberly Oliver, majored in English while at Hampton University
  • Dr. Paula Barnes (Music) was the recipients of the E. L. Hamm award for distinguished teaching for 2008-2009.
  • Dr. Mamie Locke, Dean of Liberal Arts and Professor of Political Science, received the Diane Blair Award for Outstanding Achievement in Government and Politics from the Southern Political Science Association for 2010.
  • Shawn Malone, a political science major, serves in the state legislatures of the U. S. Virgin Islands and as president of the Senate.
  • Dana Lewis, political science graduate, served as personal assistant to First Lady Michelle Obama
  • Sociology graduate, Danielle Crutchfield, is the director of scheduling for the Obama Administration
  • Jamesa Moone, English graduate, is the Human Capital Director, who works in the Office of Management and Budget's executive of the President.
